Stradivarius: D is for Denim
D IS FOR DENIM
Denim is much more than a trend; it is a symbol of style that has become a timeless icon and a key fabric in Stradivarius collections.
This season, a selection of the brand’s denim jeans have a label with the letter ‘D’ on the back. This ‘D’ recalls and celebrates the authenticity and versatility of denim and invites you to discover its evolution through time; because each letter is accompanied by a number that evokes the historical decade in which Stradivarius has been inspired to design each of the fits.
In the 70s, high-waisted jeans with a fitted waist and wide leg dominated. Inspired by this decade, the D71 Wide Flare model stands out, with a wide cut, feminine style and narrow waist; the D72 Bootcut, with a medium rise and slightly flared; the D74 Flare Slit, which slims the silhouette; the D76 Flare Jegging, made with elastic fabric, the D77 Minimal Pockets, with a dressy style and, finally, the D78 Cropped Flare, flared, with a high rise and ankle length.
In the 80s, jeans with a worn-out effect, different washes and oversized fits became fashionable. Stradivarius has been inspired by this decade to design the D82 Balloon Fit, a pair of low-rise trousers with a wide curved leg.
In the 90s, straight-cut jeans became popular and denim took on a much more urban identity. Stradivarius presents its D92 Straight Wide model, with a very versatile fit, wide and mid-rise; the D96 Straight Cropped, a wardrobe staple; the D98 Straight, tight in leg and waist, a model that has gone viral on social networks and the D99 Wide Straight Loose, with a dropped waist and skater aesthetic.
In the 2000s, the streetwear aesthetic, with embroidery, decorative details and fitted patterns are present in a large selection of jeans. Stradivarius designs the D04 Flare Low model, with low rise and stretch fabric, to commemorate this decade.
